At Top Ag, interns have a hands-on opportunity to connect classroom learning to the field and gain valuable experience while discovering a potential career path. Our coop is small and independent, but we have “corporate-level” resources through our affiliation with Land O’Lakes to give the best internship experience.
While primarily focused on agronomy, our interns have the opportunity to gain experience in all departments across the coop. Typical Intern Activities and Duties:
Requirements: You must be a current college student with intentions of a career in agriculture. Your major must be in an agriculture-related field. Ag background, knowledge and/or work experience is preferred.
Training: Interns attend 2-day Agronomy Scout training presented by Land O’ Lakes Business Development Services. Training is held in mid-May after spring semester final exams are completed. Attend various training throughout the summer. Plenty of on-the-job training in the field, literally.
Compensation: Interns are paid, temporary Top Ag employees. Most weeks interns will work 40+ hours. The duration of internships is mid-May through August.
